The INGO Network, is a network of over 70 iNGOs working in Lao PDR.  The Network is seeking a qualified consultant to serve as the INGO Network Coordination and Liaison Officer to work closely with the Network Committee to further develop the Network, and perform responsibilities as listed below. 

Responsibilities

  1. Liaise actively with relevant stakeholders, and represent members on key issues;
  2. Convene, and facilitate coordination, cooperation and information sharing amongst members of the INGO Network and other stakeholders;
  3. Information and Knowledge management
  4. Ensure added value and sustainability of the Network
  5. Manage the INGO Network secretariat;
  6. Support Lao civil society.
  7. Line manage national staff.

What we are looking for:

  • At least 2 years of work experience in development in Lao PDR and familiar with the development context and iNGOs in Lao PDR
  • Experience in communication, and information & knowledge management
  • Understands process of working with the Lao Government, United Nations and Donors.
  • Experienced facilitator and comfortable public presenter / speaker
  • Successful fund-raiser and proposal writer.
  • Experience in managing a small team of staff
  • Bachelors degree required (Masters preferred)
  • Engaging personality and natural communicator and convenor
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to work well under pressure
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic work environment and respond to changing priorities.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of French and Lao is an asset.
  • Computer skills including proficiency in at least Word, Excel and Powerpoint and familiar with social media

What we offer:

We offer a very dynamic job in a rapidly changing context. You’re in the unique position that you will gain insight in all sectors related to development and will meet and liaise with many of the stakeholders in development. The position offers many opportunities to contribute to the effectiveness of aid, and will rely on your understanding of the context and creativity to do even more so in the future.

 The position is for 3,5 to 5 days per week, based on negotiation and agreement with the iNGO Committee. You will initially get a 1-year contract, which can be extended.

 Start date is June 13, 2011
