PR/Event Officer
Lao-German Cooperation – GTZ Office in Vientiane represents the GTZ in Laos. It supports the German projects and programmes operating in the country as a service provider, especially in finance and administrative matters. GTZ Office is currently seeking for 1 qualified Laotian candidate for Temporary position of PR/Event Officer
Duration of Assignment: 4 months
Work Location: Vientiane Capital, Starting date: December 2010
Qualifications:
- Good working knowledge of modern telecommunication systems (telephone, fax, e-mail, internet and its software)
- Good working knowledge of computer programs (e.g. MSOffice)
- Good language and communication skills
- Excellent office administration and organizational skills, Communication & PR work
Main Tasks:
Information/ Public Relation:
- Check and control all print products within the Lao-German House according to the GTZ corporate design manual.
- Design and produce leaflets, brochures, internal newsletters
- Be responsible media relations tasks.
- Collecting program/project updates for GTZ-Website in Internet and Intranet.
- Be Responsible for dissemination of yearly calendars to Program/projects, counterparts and other organisations.
- Drafting and translating official documents whenever required.
- Regularly update the information kit
- Any other tasks based to the GTZ Laos Communication concept/Strategies
Services for Short Term Experts and Other Visitors
- Gives visitors a friendly welcome and provides them with an information kit
Supervising and monitoring
- Supervises auxiliary and administrative support staff (cleaners) in the GTZ Country Office according to GTZ leadership principles
- Annually accomplish Performance Assessment for Support Staff
Events Management
- Organizes/co-ordinates logistical management in planning, implementation, and documentation of meetings, workshops, seminars and other activities
Managerial responsibility
- Supervision and Management of office support staff (cleaners) in close coordination with the Deputy Head of Administration
- Management of services for meetings in the house on request (rooms, chairs, tables, projector, flipchart, pin boards, coffee breaks, lunch breaks …)
Experience:
- At least 5 years of professional working experience in a similar position
Level of education:
- BA in Business Administration, PR/ Communication Certificate or similar position
